Kaity and Bobby's
wedding at the Lodge at Mountain Springs Lake Resort
When the time came to propose, Bobby knocked it out of the park by surprising Kaity during a surprise birthday party she planned for him at a rooftop restaurant by the New Jersey shore:
He had hijacked my party and turned it into the best proposal ever! The four of us walked to the rooftop, and as we entered everyone shouted "Surprise!" and took pictures. At exactly that moment, Bobby turned to me with a knowing smile and walked me into an empty corner of the rooftop, right as the sun was setting. When he started to bend down on one knee, my stomach started doing backflips and my heart started racing. Bobby told me that I was the best birthday present he could ever ask for and asked me to marry him. I immediately started crying and squeaked a "Yes!" before we kissed. And since then we’ve been making our dreams come true together. She's a publicist and a yoga teacher and he works with plants doing corporate interiorscaping, so going into planning, Kaity and Bobby knew they wanted to be married somewhere that highlighted nature and felt magical:
We wanted to have a destination wedding without forcing our guests to take a plane – we decided that the Poconos was the perfect destination. Once we decided to have our reception at Mountain Springs Lake Resort, it felt natural to play up a Rustic Elegant theme – natural wood cabins, lake, greens, peonies and hydrangea bushes. Not to mention that East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church is so elegant – gorgeous gold organ, tapered candles, floor to ceiling stained glass windows and elegant carvings in the wood. It just fit so perfectly – and it ensured that my ball gown would fit perfectly into the scene!Kaity and Bobby had a picture-perfect wedding day with their nearest and dearest. Although they worked with many talented professionals to bring the day together, they added many personal touches by including handmade signs throughout the venue. Our favorite touch was their edible centerpieces. The floral-looking centerpieces were actually cupcakes that the guests were invited to eat when the bride and groom cut their cake. Scroll on to see these and other fabulous details yourself. Thank you, Kaity and Bobby, for trusting Josh to capture the story of the day.
