Judy and Jason's
wedding at the Pump House
Judy and Jason are a match made in heaven. We learned firsthand at their engagement session how well these two compliment each other. And trust a professional event planner and an architect to put together an amazing wedding. Judy and Jason's day was chock full of fun and stylish details.
When planning the wedding, Judy had this to say:
I hope our wedding is one that honors love. Not just between us, but our parents, our families and our friends. I'm not entirely sure how we'll achieve that exactly. We did choose our wedding date because it is the day after my parents' 50th Anniversary. I originally wanted it on June 6th, but a Friday wedding proved difficult for people's schedules. Unique pieces are our receiving line and the ceremonial elk toss. For our receiving line, we will be serving lemonade and iced tea to our guests for their walk to the cocktail hour/games. We will have a ceremonial elk toss together to acknowledge our first date together. The look of our wedding is relaxed wooded elegance, essentially rustic without the burlap and mason jars. I love how much we've incorporated the skills of our friends, from the invitations, the flowers and the cake.
What's an elk toss you ask? Unless you are from Danville, you probably don't know. Check out the Danville German Society's website for more info. It's very serious stuff.
Judy and Jason chose the Pump House Bed and Breakfast as the setting for their wedding. This place is truly a hidden gem. Owners Doug and Marika have spent over two decades restoring the property with an artist's eye. In fact, their sculptures, paintings and tile work are featured throughout the site. There are expansive brick factory/studio-like spaces. There are two 19th century houses decked outed with authentic and artistic flair. There is a creek-side ceremony site reached by way of short walk down a peaceful wooded footpath. Guests have full run of the property and are welcome to camp out even. Tie this all together with the secluded feel of the place and the hospitable down-to-earth vibe of the proprietors and it makes for an amazing package. Every once in a while, Josh and I find a place that makes us want to get married again. The Pump House is definitely one of the best wedding venues in Pennsylvania. Period.
All of these eclectic details added up to a great party for a a very sweet couple. Scroll on to check out our favorite photos from the day!
