Mary Beth and TR | Married!

Mary Beth and TR's
wedding in Jim Thorpe

We love Jim Thorpe. The longer we live and work here, the more our circle of friends and clients closes in around us and grows and the more we get to enjoy shooting practically in our own back yard. Mary Beth had friends who had used us for their wedding and her mother knew us personally. We had a great time shooting their engagement portraits last June and we got to revisit some of the same locations on their wedding day. As that day approached and we began the planning process, Mary Beth expressed to me how excited she and TR were to take the next step in their relationship.

Mary Beth and TR's wedding day was beautiful. It was cooler than the hot and humid days preceding it and fog and eventually rain came that evening. But the weather held long enough for us to shoot some portraits in downtown Jim Thorpe. We had a blast walking down the middle of Race St. after their limo bus inadvertently shut down traffic for us since it couldn't get through! Then once we arrived at Blue Mountain, we were so far ahead of schedule that we went out for more portraits on the foggy mountain top. TR commented at the end of the night what a good time he had taking pictures with us throughout the day. He said he didn't really expect it to be so much fun. It felt good to hear:-)

Speaking of being surprised, Blue Mountain's ballroom blew me away. They recently renovated and this was the first time I had a chance to see their gorgeous new event space. Although the fog obscured the mountain views, it felt cozy in there, like we were nestled in the clouds. The gold and blush wedding details and table settings were beautiful. I also liked the layer of flowers the florist stacked in Mary Beth and TR's cake. After seeing Mary Beth's parents' wedding album, it seemed to me a nod to the fountain cake they had when they were married in the 70's.

Thank you Mary Beth and TR for trusting us to capture the story of your day in photos. We had a blast! Scroll on to check out some of our favorite moments from the day.
