Cara and Brent's Halloween wedding at the Stroudsmoor
Cara and Brent's
I have to admit, when Cara first contacted me about her photographing her wedding, I was so excited by the prospect of shooting our first event on Halloween. I love Halloween and Cara said it's her favorite holiday too. In fact, Brent proposed to her at a Halloween party they hosted the year before their wedding. But when it came time to plan their wedding, Cara was clear that they were going for classy, not kitschy. They included masquerade masks as favors for their guests, but this was no costume party. Their centerpieces and place cards and the candy table at the end of the night all paid homage to Halloween in a fun yet fancy way. And the Stroudsmoor was the perfect backdrop! The stonework and fireplace fixtures (both at their ceremony and reception sites) gave the event a warm gothic feel. Cara looked amazing in her gown, which incorporated a touch of black along with the traditional white (like her engagement ring which incorporates both black and white diamonds). Her black bridesmaids' dresses were awesome too, with bead work detailing, cut out backs and fun fur boleros to keep them toasty. Cara and Brent, thank you for trusting me to photograph your day. Congratulations on your marriage and for hosting a kick-ass wedding! Scroll on to view some of my favorite photos of the day.
