Kim and Tom's wedding in Doylestown

Kim and Tom's
wedding in Doylestown

Kim and Tom were married just a few days before I gave birth to our newest addition to the family. Although I didn't shoot this one, I feel like I was there through the experience of viewing these photos (and catching bits of the back story from Josh!). A client-turned-friend once told me that she loved our work because when viewing our photos from an event, she felt as though she was there. Josh and his second shooter, the amazing Christina Campbell (a la Nina Lily Photography) did a sensational job telling the story of the day. Josh said that the day was pretty much non-stop fun from the ceremony onward. Here's what Kim and Tom had to say about their vision for the day during the planning stages:
We envision a classy and elegant wedding that captures the essence of our love. We want to see that people are mingling and drinking cocktails, enjoying the food and ambiance of the museum and the lighting on the stone wall. We want to have good music and dancing, lots of soft and romantic colors (creams, ivory, blush and touches of silver and gold) and candlelight. We envision a lot of flowers and traditional touches to our day that pay respect to Kim's Italian heritage, including having a cantor at the church to sing Ave Maria during the offering to the Virgin Mary at church, Jordan Almonds in tulle on the reception tables and a replica of her Italian grandparents' wedding cake.
The James A. Michener Museum in Doylestown is a unique wedding venue. The historic stone wall surrounding the grounds creates an interesting contrast with the modern/minimalist feeling of the glass encased ballroom. Kim said she liked the venue because it is like a blank canvas. Doylestown florist Florabunda did a great job of helping bring their vision to light. I love how the blush-toned bridesmaid bouquets looked against their grey dresses and how the reception center pieces looked with the warm pink lace ruched table linens and gold chairs.

Kim and Tom - Congratulations! It looks like you definitely pulled off classy and elegant, but with a healthy dose of fun too:-) Thank you so much for your patience and for trusting us to to tell the story of your day.
