Sarah and Zach | Engaged!

Sarah and Zach's engagement session
in Jim Thorpe

So good to meet these guys this week! Zach and I hit it off over the phone, geeking out about our photo experiences. I knew from the way he described himself and Sarah that we'd be a great fit. They have an easy-going nature about them and getting them to relax in front of the camera was no challenge. This was my first time shooting at the old jail in Jim Thorpe - very fun! - and since they love the outdoors, we stopped a few minutes at Mauch Chunk Lake. Check out some of my favorites below.

Steph and Ken planned their wedding day to be full of details that shared the things they love with their nearest and dearest. This Philadelphia-area couple are both beer aficionados and wanted a brewery wedding venue. They are also self described "nerds" and love gaming, so obscure game references graced the details and the ceremony.

From the bride:
We have deemed our wedding "nerd formal." We are doing a lot of the traditional things but with our own spin. A lot of the details are a little offbeat and we are trying to throw as many nerdy references in as possible. Our cake for instance will have Star Wars cake toppers, our card box is a companion cube from the video game Portal, and the guys will have nerdy cufflinks. We also wanted a lot of color which is why our bridal party will be in three different colors. Other than that we are embracing the brewery venue and have incorporated craft beer into the wedding (i.e. hops in the flowers, beer table names, etc.)
Our favorite moments - The whole day flowed so smoothly. The timing of everything (including a first look, 90% of the portraits before the ceremony and a cocktail hour and a half) helped things to not feel rushed and there was hardly a moment where Steph and Ken weren't relaxed and enjoying themselves. The ceremony was really sweet. These guys have a great sense of humor! They also have a heart. Thinking of couples in love who are prohibited by law from marrying, they put out a basket of white ribbons encouraging their guests to wear them in support of marriage equality. We also loved the photo booth. After a couple years of offering the service here and there, Steph and Ken's wedding marked the official inauguration of our "Sweet Dandy Photo Booth." It was great to see everyone having so much fun with it. Check out the photo booth gallery to see what I mean.
