The full name of this post ought to be "Lauren and Darry's lovely Christmas themed winter wedding in Bethlehem and Bank St. Annex" but that's way too long.

Happy Anniversary Lauren and Darryl! One year ago today, we had the pleasure of photographing your wedding. The day was gorgeous. You both looked great. The flowers were stunning. Sarah Petryk did an amazing job. Hooray for the pine cones in the bouquet and boutonnieres! Your church and ceremony were beautiful. The music during the ceremony was so...real. (To see what I mean, check out this link to a slideshow from the day set to one of the songs recorded live from the ceremony.) Bank St. looked so sweet too. The table settings were perfect. Loved the ornament favors! And caroling by candlelight was the perfect way to end the night. It was all so beautiful. Thanks again for trusting us to tell the story of your wedding day. We wish you many more happy anniversaries together.

Kristi and Debbie's Commitment

Debbie and Kristi
Bucks County/New Jersey commitment ceremony

Tonight on the eve of our last wedding of 2011, I get to reflect on a first for us that took place this year. We shot our first commitment ceremony. You might remember that we got to know Kristi and Debbie during their engagement session in Jim Thorpe last fall.

How cool is it to shoot two brides getting ready in adjacent rooms? They were so close, but wanted to get ready separately and see each other in a private first look. It was so fun witnessing the build to the moment when the rooms cleared and Kristi and Debbie met for the first time that day in their wedding gowns. It was very romantic.

Rain threatened all afternoon leading up to their outdoor wedding ceremony at Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ, but Debbie and Kristi had faith that it would work out. And it did. The weather held and the ceremony was beautiful. A close friend officiated and the warmth and love shared between the couple and by all their nearest and dearest was palpable.

I have to admit- sometimes we don't ride with the bridal party in the limo. Whether it is because there isn't enough room or we get the sense that they have had enough photos (if there is such a thing) or we just shoot a photo before we pull out and go ahead to get to the reception before the party, but we often don't send a photographer along in the wedding party's limo or bus. Boy are we glad one of us was there this time! I rode along and witnessed the craziest party on wheels I have ever seen. It was like a club in there! It was a limo-bus and everyone was up and dancing, passing around champagne. The music was blasting and lights flashing. It was nuts. And the craziest part was, no one else at the wedding had any clue it went on. I am so glad I photographed it.

The party went on and got even better. I was glad to catch moments like the buddy huddle on the dance floor just after introductions, Debbie sharing a cigar with her softball teammates or the expressions on everyone's faces during Kristi's best man's speech. Thank you, thank you Kristi and Debbie for finding us and inviting us to tell the story of your day. It was a pleasure.
